The Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association is the representative of all used clothes, bags and shoes importers and dealers in Ghana.

 

The Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association was created to be a genuine organisation representing all used clothes, bags and shoes traders, independent of any external control or authority.

 

The Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association’s key goal is to ensure that used clothes are recycled to make products, such as car seats, mobs, blankets and mattresses that can be exported, thereby creating jobs for our young people.

 

The Ghana Used Clothing Dealers Association decides its own policies, mindful of its obligation to serve devotedly and respond to the true needs of both importers and dealers of used clothes, bags and shoes in Ghana.

Our Mission

To ensure the organisation of all used clothes, bags and shoes importers and dealers in Ghana into a unified association and serve as their advocate.

 

To uphold the dignity and promote the general welfare of importers, wholesalers and retailers of all used clothes, bags and shoes importers and dealers in Ghana.

 

To provide an effective means of communication between used clothes, bags and shoes importers and dealers and the government as well as various stakeholders – for example, Ghana Association of Traders Association (G.U.T.A) and Ghana Shippers Authorities (G.S.A).

 

To protect association members from outside hostile forces and from infiltration or penetration by subversive elements.

Our Objectives

To secure the adoption of trade policies and the enactment of legislation to defend and promote the rights and interests of used clothing dealers, importers, wholesalers and retailers and to oppose, through constitutional means, policies and legislation that are contrary to their interests.

 

To empower importers, wholesalers and retailers of used clothing in their struggle for economic and social freedom by fostering educational projects, workshops and seminars to broaden and deepen their knowledge and understanding of national and international challenges confronting them.

 

To solicit credit facilities in the form of loan, overdraft, grants etc. from financial and non-financial institutions e.g. local and international bank(s), donor communities, international non-governmental organisations (NGOs) etc. to assist expand the working capital of members.

 

To encourage all used clothing dealers to register and vote to exercise their full rights and responsibilities of citizenship and perform their rightful part in the political life of their regional and national communities and in building a democratic state of Ghana.
